Thank goodness the opening scene in today's show was Dorian and her kidnapper(s)!
Guess who it was? Yep, John, McBain, choice number four. Spoiled spoiler spoilers! I seriously wouldn't have seen that coming.
John had it all figured out, and made Dorian feel pretty bad by the end of the show. I think she sort-of lost it.
And because of today's show, Robin Strasser (who plays Dorian) edged out the competition and was named SOAPnet's OLTL Performer of the Week.
"Performer of the Week: Michael Lowry might have taken this had Robin Strasser not delivered a wowser of an episode on Friday. That scene with John and Brody where she had to balance Dorian's usual haughty bravado (she doesn't have to answer to someone like John McBain) with her frustration at being so hated for doing what she has to do to keep her girls safe, and when she finally broke down and admitted the position Mitch put her in, the anguish felt real. Great stuff."
Robin Strasser's biggest gung-ho fans commented that they actually felt pain in their gut watching her today.
I did something I've never done before after today's show. Please don't tell anyone I did this! And if you know me, pretend you didn't read it somewhere. I called the comment line (which all fans SHOULD do) and thanked the show for all the things they've been doing right during the last two weeks.
Now, if we could just get the One Life to Live actors to submit Emmy reels. At least two of the most intense actors on the show ... most of the vets are pretty intense ... don't really "believe" in Emmy Awards. I mean, the way the whole process works, I guess.
It would be really good for the show, though, wouldn't it? If the actors on it won more Emmy Awards? Hm, maybe I should bring that up to somebody and see if they answer me....
Tomorrow I'll try to talk about something else, okay?
