A tiny little cliffhanger during a fade-to-black....
Was it predictable that someone would grab Dorian while she was having a warm moment thinking about her girls? I didn't see it coming. My boyfriend said that it couldn't have happened at a more obvious time!
Do we assume it is the main villain that got her? I would like to think that it wouldn't be that obvious, but I admit he is the first that springs to mind.
Dorian was leaving presents for her estranged niece and daughter and someone grabbed her from behind.
This lead to a big (and comical) debate between my boyfriend and I on just how predictable soap operas are.

(And yes, I try to avoid spoilers when I can.)
The suspects:
1. Mitch Laurence - He has been threatening the lives of Dorian's sisters, nieces, and daughters and has already surprised Dorian twice by sneaking up on her -- once from his jail cell when she visited him and once in her house after everyone got mad at her and moved out. She's pretty much been doing everything he wants / his bidding -- mean, bad things, to her own detriment -- in order to keep her family safe. There's just one thing he hasn't ever gotten from her, and he recently told her that it would come in due time. Scary guy!
2. Todd Manning - When Dorian's family moved out of her house, they went to Todd's. Todd and Dorian have rarely seen eye-to-eye. Mitch recently visited Todd and pulled the old trick of threatening Todd's daughters if Todd didn't do what he said. Todd pretty much told Mitch to get lost, and Mitch said he'd regret it; but Todd wasn't home today when other people were at his house.
3. Charlie Banks - This is a bit of wishful thinking on my part. Charlie's son was killed by Mitch and he has started drinking again. Charlie recently had a confrontation with Dorian because she fired the good guy police commissioner and hired a criminal to replace him. (Oh, did I need to mention that Dorian's the mayor?) The new commissioner let Mitch out of jail. Needless to say, it was all traced back to Dorian and Charlie wasn't happy. I just thought it would be neat if it was Charlie because his wife, Viki, is Dorian's long-time rival. Dorian's also done some pretty horrible things to both of them before. (She had her reasons! haha) It would be interesting to see what might play out if Charlie dragged Dorian off and held her hostage for a while so that she would stop doing bad things. Of course, Charlie doesn't realize it is really Mitch who is to blame for Dorian's most recent actions.
I only list this guy cause someone spoiled it for me today....
4. John McBain - He's a former police detective who was fired by the new bad commissioner because they don't like each other. He is one of the few who is suspicious that Dorian's actions are based on something Mitch is doing to her, but he's also a bit of a vigilante and often takes matters into his own hands. According to what I heard, spoilers indicated that Dorian would have a "run-in" with John. I have to say, if it is John that grabbed Dorian then that's good, because I never would have suspected him if it were not for spoilers! (Of course, if it is him I'm going to be disappointed, too, because someone ruined the surprise!)
Now the big question is, who will win this predictability debate?
My boyfriend, who refuses to "watch" OLTL with me but has finally accepted that I'm going to watch the show and he might as well know who the characters are? He says that it is a soap, so it has to be predictable; and just the fact that Dorian was grabbed during a touching scene was predictable! So, he (not knowing any better) says it has to be Mitch.
While I think it is wonderful when Mitch is tormenting Dorian and she's lacing his scrambled eggs with poison, I just don't think the show would make it that easy to figure out. So, although it might be entertaining, I don't think it is Mitch, and I don't think the show is that predictable.
However, along that line of thinking, if it is Mitch, it will surprise me! So, I've defeated my own predictability argument, haven't I? Created a little paradox!

And you know what? It just occurred to me that this was a Thursday scene. Friday is the last show of the week. Will they leave us hanging? That would be very disappointing, sad, and predictable. By next Monday, this won't even be that exciting anymore. C'mon, Friday! Answer my question!
